5 COMMON FASHION MISTAKES TO AVOID

Why make mistakes if you can avoid them? According to Socrates: “Intelligent individuals learn from everything and everyone; average people, from their experiences”. What category would you rather be in? We thought so … and that is why Personal Stylist Natalia Macri from Style-And-You wants to share with you Top 5 Common Fashion mistakes women make, so YOU can avoid it.

WEARING 20 YEARS OLDS’ OUTFITS IN YOUR 40s (OR LATER)

You are constantly evolving, advancing and developing. It goes with style too, it moves and changes, what suits you and you adore in your 20s isn’t getting down to business on your present day, 20 or 30 years after.

    Common styling mistakes are:

    1. Staying with something you cherish because it was costly, you trust it suits you, or you are charmed you can even now fit in it.
    2. Staying with something because you are emotionally attached to it.

We’ve all got things in the closet, no matter how old we are, that helps us remember a period route back. Some ladies who love their garments get emotionally fixated, yet it’s vital to recognize when you are totally stuck in the past and wearing a look that has gone by (a long time ago) or you have outgrown.

    BUYING CLOTHES FOR THE FUTURE

Have you bought clothes in a spree and in hope that they will fit and make you look the very best in the future? Perhaps you have a weight issue but are cheerful that you will get in shape, so you purchase garments smaller than your alleged size?
Never purchase something unreasonably little for you, just for the sake of a huge discount. If the length of your overcoat or coat sleeves is excessively short or long, and your jeans aren’t trimmed to precisely the correct length, it can make or break the entire look of the outfit and lead to utter disappointment.

A decent principle guideline – garments that are excessively tight, and garments that are excessively free, make you look larger, and sometimes (sorry, but it is true L) ugly.

TOO MUCH MAKE UP IS SO OUTDATED

Caked on, unreasonable and unnecessary make-up and cosmetics are never a decent (nor modern!) look, particularly when the foundation is all over and visible to the naked eye, awful orange or counterfeit tans, and hands with fake tans marks all over them. Lip liner in a lot darker shade than your lipstick is an absolute No-No (we did it in the late 90s, it is 2020 now).

Times of extreme make up are over (like 80s make up look inspired by Dynasty) while more natural make up look is in and this trend is not going anywhere soon.

NO ACCESSORY OR TOO MUCH OF IT

Not wearing any accessories whatsoever, most ladies increasingly excuse by saying “no time to accessorize”. These could be little things like a piece of jewelry, sunglasses, scarf, belt, bag, or bright heels, which can make a real difference and complete off your outfit. It will genuinely take you just an additional 30 seconds every morning to include that scarf, hoop, or accessory.

Too much of accessories can also spoil the look. Be guided by the rule of thumb “Less Is More” – Coco Chanel.

    CHOOSING THE WRONG SHOES

Ensure your shoes are proper and appropriate for the occasion. Find shoes for yourself that are fashionable, yet comfortable, whether it is going for a walk, for a lunch catch-up, a date in the evening or a party.

To look and feel like a million dollars, it is a must that you wear not only the desired style and fashion statement, but also be yourself. Making educated fashion decisions that work for you, your body shape and your lifestyle will have you looking the best in comfort and in all the glamour.

3 Terrific Benefits of Hiring a Personal Stylist

Imagine opening your closet and finding the right outfit instantly. Then walking into a party and getting complimented on your dress.

Imagine having a stylish set of clothes and accessories ready for you to use during the week. Sounds, like a dream come true, doesn’t it?

Personal stylists are turning this dream into a reality for thousands of people. From the rich and famous to the average Joes ―the benefits of personal styling make everyone’s life easier. That’s because they ensure that you look presentable and have a well-put-together wardrobe at all times. Not only does this make it easier for you to get dressed but it saves your time and money too.

Let’s look at the wonderful benefits of hiring a personal stylist:

    1. Ending Your Quest for the Perfect Dress

Ever looked at your wardrobe and didn’t like what you saw?

We’ve all been there! We’ve got a tendency to create a uniform for ourselves. It could be anything from getting the same shirt in multiple colors or sticking to the same color palette. Even though this habit is comfortable for you, it does get tricky to dress up when everything looks the same. That is when a WARDROBE DETOX comes handy.

With a personal stylist at hand, you won’t face this problem. That’s because they curate wardrobes by choosing pieces that are comfortable yet different. Plus, they have a knack of styling the regular outfits in a whole new way.

    2. Put Your Fashion Foot Forward

Do you have a busy schedule?

Whether you’re a nine-to-fiver, a top executive, or a homemaker―your crowded planner might keep you away from fashion updates. That means you won’t know anything about trends, sales, or the hottest brands. Now, not knowing these things isn’t the end of the world.

However, knowing this information can ensure that you make an impression wherever you do. If that’s something you want then consulting a personal stylist is the best way to go. They’ll give your wardrobe or a full STYLE MAKEOVER if you want. Or connect you with a list of outlets that sell trendy clothes that suit your sense of style.

    3. Take over Your Shopping List

Are you the kind of person who doesn’t like shopping? Or do you fall into the category of shoppers who suffer from buyer’s remorse?

Shopping for clothes can get tricky! It’s especially true if you’re going through a transition phase (e.g. promotion or graduation) or don’t have the budget to splurge. A PERSONAL STYLIST can be a big help in these situations.

    Here’s how:

    ·      They save you time and the hassle of shopping.

    ·      They’ll connect you with affordable yet trendy brands.

    ·      They’ll ensure that every new outfit is worth the purchase.

    It’s a Wrap

In a nutshell, the benefits of personal styling are infinite. From stress-free dressing, styling tips to shopping solutions―they cover it all. Plus, having them by your side will give you time to focus on other areas of your life. Don’t take our word for it, see HERE what people say about us.

  • HOW TO STYLE A CARDIGAN

    HOW TO STYLE A CARDIGAN

Cardigans have been seen at the forefront of most fashion catwalks this winter season.

Some might find cardigans boring but if you know how to style cardigans they will quickly become your ultimate wardrobe essential. And this is why I prepared a quick style guide on the 2020 cardigan trend.

Ps: Handy to take it with you when you go shopping 🛍

Here are 10 cool Cardigan Looks to choose from this winter:

    Look 1

Why settle for just one knit when you can wear two? Wear one as a dress and one as a jacket for a layered look that’s perfect for cold weather.

    Look 2

Go bright with an oversized cardigan for a bold statement.

    Look 3

Layer up. Just simply layer it over a slim turtleneck and tights.

    Look 4

Consider wearing a more oversized cardigan as a dress for a modern take on the sweater dress.

    Look 5

Take that cardigan look to the next level by adding a belt on top, nipping in your waist with even the chinkiest of knits.

    Look 6

There is nothing we love more than a simple cardigan, tucked into the top of a pair of jeans, for an effortlessly chic Winter uniform.

    Look 7

When wearing a cardigan as a dress, go for the high-low look with a pair of vintage-looking sneeakers on the bottom.

    Look 8

Crop tops are not just for summer: reach for a shorter cardigan silhouette to pair with a dress.

    Look 9

Wear an elongated cardigan over a pencil skirt for a variation on proportion that takes your look to the next level.

    Look 10

Seek styles that are fashioned more like a cropped jacket, allowing the seasonal essential to do double duty in your transitional wardrobe.
